Team Anna Shcherbakova confidently won the Channel One Cup, and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva at the last moment snatched the silver from Alina Zagitova. After the end of the competition, awards and numerous photo sessions, the girls came to the journalists and shared their emotions from the end of the tournament. The champion spoke first.
Shcherbakova: Emotions are overwhelming. I’m proud of the guys on our team. They should sit here [на пресс-конференции]. This is their job, they did the maximum – each of them. The guys are incredible fellows. We were worried regarding everyone – our team is very cool. Thanks to everyone who gave their all at this tournament.
When Petya spoke, the scoring began. The gooner has calculated everything. We knew all the schedules in advance. Everything was calculated thanks to him. But then Danya came out and broke everything that was in our heads. I didn’t believe that all this was happening in front of us. With each jump there were more and more emotions. This is the icing on the cake for our team. Special congratulations and special thanks to him.
The team and I decided that relay races are not our thing. We decided to go for pure skating. But the extra competitions were the fun part and helped lighten the mood.
Tuktamysheva: I would like to make a separate prize for Lev and Arseny. These are two giants. The intensity of passion was incredible. It was cool, fun, great.
All three teams performed great. It’s good that even when we compete with each other, we support each other. It was one of the most fun Channel One Cups.
Juniors? It’s good that they were, considering how they skated. The juniors are very strong now. It was a great pleasure for them and for us. They now have an idea of what it’s like to compete with adults.
Zagitova: Everyone was charged to fight, to win. The guys did what depended on them. Thanks to the opposing teams – they put up a very serious fight. Congratulations to Anya on her victory, and Lisa on her second place.
I took part in all the Channel One Cups. I would like to make the calculation of grades more clear, otherwise we are a little confused. And so – everything was great.
The girls also answered Sport24’s question regarding the upcoming show program tournament. Unlike last season, where all three captains took part, this time only Lisa was on the list of performers.
“Tight schedule,” Tuktamysheva explained her absence.
Anna Shcherbakova nodded her head affirmatively when asked whether missing the tournament was due to injury.
“I have an idea, there are directors, in the work we are going to use: costumes and attributes of the act. We will start betting immediately following the Channel One Cup. The main thing is that there is an idea; this is always the most difficult thing – to understand how to fully reveal the image. We have an understanding of this, all that remains is to transfer everything to the ice,” Tuktamysheva said regarding her preparation.
