The newcomer takes over the features of the GPSMAP X3, namely integrated Garmin Navionics+™ mapping and the IPS screen. Chartplotter-sounder combo versions (GPSMAP xsv series) feature built-in ClearVü and SideVü ultra-high definition scanning sonar functionality. These bright, high-contrast color palettes make fish identification easier.
This chartplotter series is also compatible with the entire range of Garmin Panoptix sonars, including the LiveScope real-time scanning sonar (transducer sold separately) which allows anglers to see in real time what is happening around their multihull.
The GPSMAP X3 can of course be connected to a wide range of compatible devices such as fishfinders, autopilots, radars, instruments, cameras, etc. The Garmin can thus be connected using NMEA 2000 technology or Wi-Fi, which allows for example the installation of software updates or the reception of Smart Notifications from the free ActiveCaptain application – available on a compatible smartphone or tablet .
