According to information, the woman was found with two very serious wounds on the shoulder blade. He has a broken rib, a ruptured diaphragm and a lung injury. He was transferred to Evangelismos, operated on and is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The woman’s condition is considered serious, but the doctors showed the first smiles on their faces following the end of the surgery. The assailant was arrested by the police, however the motive for the attack remains unknown.
“It was a foreigner, he pointed a knife at her and I thought he wanted to rob her,” describes an eyewitness who called the Immediate Action. The girl shouted “help, help”. The perpetrator threw away the sack. “He was dispassionate, he didn’t want to run away. He stood there looking at her,” said the woman, who estimated he wanted to attack her once more.”
Another one eyewitness he describes what he saw unfold before him. “Stab the girl in the back. Then he went to the middle of the road. Put the knife down. He had one rucksack and he was waiting for them to come and get him,” he said, adding that he did not say anything.
Speaking on the Live News show, the father of the 22-year-old Greek student claimed that his girl is bleeding profusely.
“I don’t know what you’re telling me that her life is not in danger. They told me that my girl is bleeding profusely and it hasn’t stopped yet,” said the father of the maritime studies student to Nikos Evagelatos.

The perpetrator is a 42-year-old Iraqi and appears to have psychological problems. As eyewitnesses reveal, he shouted that the girl was an agent and was following him. I stabbed her to avoid her he seems to have told the police who rushed to the scene and arrested him.
