Bilie By Nze requests the recognition of the vacancy in the power of the Distinguished Comrade and the SG –

In a statement, Alain Claude Bilie By Nze, last Prime Minister Ali Bongo recognizes that the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) is experiencing a major crisis and recommends that the party authorities recognize the vacancy in power of Distinguished Comrade Ali Bongo and Secretary General Steeve Ndegho Dieko, main victims of the August 30 coup. Below is the full text.

Gabon, our country, experienced the ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽ ๐š๐จรป๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘, a military coup with the overthrow of the ๐๐ซ๐žฬ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐€๐ฅ๐ข ๐๐จ ๐ง๐ ๐จ ๐Ž๐ง๐๐ข๐ฆ๐›๐š and the takeover of ๐†๐žฬ๐ง๐žฬ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐๐ž ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐š๐๐ž ๐ Commander-in-Chief of the Republican Guard.

This event had a major impact on the life and functioning of the Gabonese Democratic Party, the party in power since its creation on March 12, 1968. It also revealed the fragility of the governing bodies of our Party, from which the statutory rules of governance draw their source and legitimacy of the

However, the latter, although officially declared free of his movements by the CTRI, has not undertaken any known political activity since August 30, 2023 and is in fact unable to direct and drive the action of the Party. .

In addition, the absence of the Secretary General of the CEO, following his house arrest, does not allow regular administration of the Party.

From these two unavailabilities therefore emerges a de facto vacancy of the functions of ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐žฬ ๐‚๐š๐ฆ๐š๐ซ๐š๐๐ž ๐๐ซ๐žฬ๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ž ๐ง๐ญ and the ๐’๐ž๐œ๐ซ๐žฬ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ซ๐ž ๐†๐žฬ๐ง๐žฬ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ which must be noted by the authorized authorities.

Faced with this situation, which must be described as a major crisis, a political solution of wisdom and unity is required today.

We must get out of the policy of burying our heads in the sand and this plastering called interim which is more of a summary and precarious solution.

Our Party, with its 56 years of life, is made up of men and women of quality and great experience, who have been able, in the past, to get out of very difficult situations. Their contribution must be solicited with humility, just as it is appropriate to solicit the contribution of all executives wishing to get involved.

The failure of the first phase of the Self-Criticism and Refoundation Conference, convened without prior consultation with the deliberative bodies, confirms the deep crisis which threatens the CEO building, our common home.

In view of all of the above, courageous and life-saving decisions must be taken.

It is indeed time to free the floor so that grassroots activists, without whom the Party would not exist, can express themselves on the root causes which undermined the CEO until he lost power.

It is from an inclusive, participatory and taboo-free consultation that the Party will be able to build and set a new strategy if it wants to claim to remain the main political force of our country, attentively listening to what our compatriots tell it. reproach.

It would be vain to seek to advance further in denial of current realities.

Refusing, ignoring, minimizing the root causes that led to the current situation would be an irresponsible and suicidal approach.

We must carry out a lucid inventory, take a retrospective look and carry out an introspection of the life of the Party, from its creation to the present day.

To this end, how can we not learn all the lessons from the testamentary speech delivered by the Founding President of the CEO, ๐Ž๐ฆ๐š๐ซ ๐๐จ๐ง๐ ๐จ ๐Ž๐ง๐๐ข๐ฆ๐›๐š, on December 2, 2007? His courageous self-criticism of the actions of the Gabonese ruling class over 40 years should be a guide for us to redefine the future of our Party.

We must carry out courageous and ambitious reforms in order to provide our Party with a solid political corpus in line with the realities of a country where people under 25 represent nearly 2/3 of the population.

It is time for the current Executive, whose interim office cannot last indefinitely, to organize, as a matter of urgency, a meeting of the Political Bureau and the Consultative Council of Elders, preferably before March 12, 2024.

This joint meeting of the Political Bureau and the Consultative Council of Wise Men will have to deliberate on the establishment of an ad-hoc directorate, responsible for conducting current affairs until the holding of an extraordinary Congress which will provide our Party with stable structures. and legitimate.

To take the opposite view of this vision would be to want to sanction the death of the CEO, which would be a historical responsibility with which it would be risky to associate oneself.
