Red Bull team boss Christian Horner was acquitted of misconduct on Wednesday. The Englishman was under investigation following a complaint from an employee.
“Red Bull confirms that the investigation into the allegations once morest Horner has been completed and the complaint has been dismissed,” the Austrian company said. “Red Bull is confident that the investigation was conducted fairly and impartially.”
The results of the study remain confidential, according to the energy drink company. Red Bull therefore does not want to comment further on the matter. The person who made the accusations can still appeal.
Red Bull engaged an external lawyer following accusations of inappropriate behavior and received the results earlier this week. Horner denied the accusations, while one employee said The Telegraph WhatsApp conversations containing sexually explicit messages.
Fifty-year-old Horner is the longest-serving team boss in Formula 1. The Englishman has been at the helm of Red Bull Racing since its founding in 2005. Horner is one of the driving forces behind the success of the team of three-time world champion Max Verstappen.
Horner is expected back on track on Thursday
Due to the results of the investigation, Horner will normally be present at the start of the new Formula 1 season in Bahrain. He was absent on Wednesday during the press day for the start of the season, but will be on site on Thursday.
The first training will take place in Bahrain on Thursday. The first race of the new Formula 1 season will be held on Saturday.
