Lara Gut-Behrami further extends her lead in the overall and Super-G World Cup. The Ticino woman came second in the second Super-G in Kvitfjell – behind Federica Brignone, but well ahead of Cornelia Hütter.

Federica Brignone, third in the discipline rankings and now second in the overall World Cup, was clearly the fastest in the race, which was interrupted several times due to fog and ended prematurely following 41 of 48 riders due to the onset of darkness. The now 25-time World Cup winner from Milan won 61 hundredths ahead of Gut-Behrami and 79 hundredths ahead of the Czech Ester Ledecka. Cornelia Hütter, Gut-Behrami’s first pursuer in the Super-G World Cup, did not get past 7th place, 1.27 seconds behind.

After the 15th podium finish in her 24th race of the season (!), Gut-Behrami goes into the last Super-G of the season on March 22nd in Saalbach with a 69-point lead over Hütter. Brignone also still has a small chance of winning the discipline, 74 points behind.

«It wasn’t an easy day with the many interruptions, neither for us riders nor for the FIS, which has to make the right decision. It wasn’t the best conditions, but I wouldn’t say it was a dangerous race because the slope was slow and visibility was okay for me.”
