The next beta update for Starfield will be released next week.
It will be available from March 6, 2024 and focuses on quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.
Preparing for more
This serves, among other things, to prepare for “more features and content” coming later this year.
Full details regarding the update are not yet available, but you will, for example, be able to use your scanner while mining resources or opening gates. And if you set course for an inactive mission, the interface will automatically reactivate.

If you lost David Barron in the sabotage mission, you can breathe a sigh of relief. And you should no longer mysteriously move to the left while sprinting.
And then there’s the photo mode: “We’re adding facial expressions to the photo mode!” it says. “Now you can customize your character and companions to match the mood of your shot – and Vasco gets a few new poses too.”
