~May the sea be nymphic chamber,
Antoninan hiding a nymph of the Lord.~
Saint Antonina came from the city of Nicaea in Bithynia and lived during the time of Emperor Maximian (286 – 305 AD). Being a Christian, she revealed herself to Maximian when he left for Nicaea and boldly confessed Christ.
For this he was tortured and taken to prison. After she was released from prison, they forced her to deny Christ by force.
Agia did not accept and remained steadfast in her faith. Then the executioners hanged her and flayed her ribs.
Then they placed her on a red-hot grill, but even following this torture the Saint remained unharmed.
Then, following putting her in a sack, she was thrown into the lake of Nicaea, in which she met a martyr’s death and received the crown of martyrdom.
The memory of the Saint is repeated on June 12.
