Popularly known NSQK (Nesquik), the Mexican producer and singer-songwriter Rodrigo Torres de la Garza, will offer a concert this Friday, March 1, at 8 p.m., at the Parque de la Industria, in Guatemala City.
NSQK gained the admiration of crowds following publishing ROY, their debut album. In addition, that production released in 2022 expanded his musical project.
“I don’t know Guatemala, I don’t have the taste yet, but it fills me with excitement to know that I will arrive soon and that it will be the first time I sing in this country. It will be the first time that I provide a show outside of Mexico and that fills me with emotion. “I feel very happy and blessed,” NSQK said during an interview with Free Press.
The artist was born in Monterrey, Mexico and grew up in Houston, Texas, USA, cities where he trained and ventured into his work. However, in Mexico he has participated in several venues where he has exhibited his songs.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to come to Guatemala, above all, because they have believed in this project and I know that they will welcome me with open arms so that I can present what I like so much,” NSQK added.
“I intend to have a good time, to do what I like on stage, so I hope that this is noticed and that it spreads to the public,” added the artist, who recently published the single I’m still pending.
During the conversation, NSQK stated that he has fun when preparing a show and that, on this occasion, Guatemalans will be able to enjoy something different from what they have been used to projecting in previous concerts. “I like that each concert is different, that each block fulfills the mission so that the public has a great time,” he said.
“The concert in Guatemala will have surprises. Also, I haven’t performed my latest singles live, so you will be the first to hear them for a while. show and that makes me excited,” he said.
The artist added that he does not pigeonhole himself into any musical genre because he is passionate regarding exploring his songs and that his goal is to project his love for music. “If today I want to dress like a cowboy, tomorrow I want to dress like, I don’t know, more punk or more rock, I can do it and I think it is the same in my music because I always try to have my own essence” said NSQK.
“My latest single is reggaeton, which perhaps my audience was not used to hearing in my songs, but I did it because I like that music, at the end of the day I enjoy it and I wanted to be a part of it, that’s why I did it my way. In addition, collaborations are coming, a lot of music is coming because fortunately I feel good, with energy and desire to work,” she indicated.
NSQK emphasized the support that Guatemalans have given him and indicated that he feels lucky. “I want to thank you for the opportunity you give me to present my songs, for the support you give me. I feel very blessed to be traveling to your lands and I hope you enjoy my music during the show”, he concluded.
