The man lost control of his skis while jumping and crashed into the run-out of a ski jump, police said. Although he had pain in his back, he continued his journey.
A short time later his condition worsened and he went to a hut.
It was said that the rescue chain was finally set in motion in the hut. He was taken to the Innsbruck clinic with serious injuries.
