Far from his partner in Louiseville who was chasing residents, a wild turkey has been causing a sensation on TikTok since Thursday following boarding a Société de transport de Montréal (STM) bus in Baie-D’Urfé, in the urban area from Montreal.
The bird was filmed last year at the entrance to the bus, very close to the terminal to validate its transport ticket, according to a video shared on TikTok Thursday evening.
“You can’t stay there!” the bus driver had said, laughing.
According to information provided in the post’s comments, the turkey had boarded bus route 219.
The animal only remained in the vehicle for “three, four minutes” before eventually getting out on its own.
Requested by the QMI Agency, the STM authenticated the event, while specifying that it dates back to March 2023.
A common situation?
According to the Montreal transport company, having a wild animal board one of its modes of transport is not that common.
“This kind of situation is rather rare. A few years ago, a fox entered the metro network and wandered through the tunnel for a short time before being captured,” explained Amélie Régis, corporate communications advisor for the STM.
