At UNEA6, the OCP Group stood out for its commitment to the importance of soil health in overcoming environmental challenges while meeting the food needs of the growing global population.

The Group also co-organized an official side-event with the Moroccan Embassy in Kenya under the theme “Cultivating soil health: a pillar of African resilience in the face of the triple planetary crisis”.

The event brought together key players in the sector to develop inclusive and sustainable strategies to address global environmental challenges, with a focus on agriculture and soil health in Africa.

In this sense, many high-level representatives from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the United Nations Environment Program, the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization, as well as the OCP Group took part to this event.

On site, the OCP Group called for the establishment of rapid mobilization, based on collaborative partnerships between the different players in the sector, with particular emphasis on small African farmers, with the aim of restoring the health of soils, rehabilitate deteriorated lands and ecosystems, fight climate change, boost income and development in rural areas, and ensure food security for future generations.

Remember that Morocco occupies the role of president of UNEA6, which demonstrates the leadership of the country and of OCP on environmental issues.
