Plane arrives in Malaysia for sick Norwegian king

Footage showed on Friday how a plane from the Scandinavian airline SAS landed at Malaysia’s Langkawi airport. According to Norwegian media, the plane was sent to the Southeast Asian country to bring the monarch back to his homeland. This has not yet been officially confirmed.

Taken to hospital

The king contracted an infection while on holiday in Malaysia and was taken to hospital there this week. According to his son Haakon (50) and the Norwegian royal family, he is now on the mend. The Oslo court announced on Thursday that Europe’s oldest monarch was still being treated in hospital, but the aim was for him to be able to return to Norway by plane in a few days.
