4Warn Weather – Happy first day of Meteorological Spring! March is not coming in like a lion, with quiet and dry conditions on tap through the weekend paired with warming temperatures.
Our Friday begins with a cool start, but it’s still warmer than yesterday with morning temperatures in the mid- to upper 20s.
Expect sunny skies this morning ahead of clouds building in his followingnoon. We’ll be milder as temperatures rise above average into the upper 40s.
Tonight’s sunset is at 6:24 p.m.
That blanket of cloud cover tonight will keep low temperatures closer to where our high temperatures should be. We won’t be nearly as chilly with lows in the upper 30s, near 40 degrees.
Warm weekend ahead of more rain
Highs will reach the mid-50s Saturday, and then climb into the low to mid-60s Sunday.
The umbrellas won’t be needed until next week. Our next best chance for rain arrives Monday night into Tuesday.
Ahead of the rain, we might possibly reach 70 degrees on Monday before cooling down with the rain through the middle of next week. The current record high for next Monday (March 4) is 69 degrees set in 1983. We are on pace to at least tie, if not break, that record on Monday.
Elsewhere …
Nationally, warm and dry air combined with gusty winds will continue to support critical fire weather across the central Plains and down into New Mexico. In the West, blizzard conditions in the mountains and heavy coastal rain will prevail through the weekend.
