Alejandro Tabilo (51st in the ATP ranking) won the Chilean duel in the round of 16 of the Chile Open, played at the Court Jaime Fillol in San Carlos de Apoquindo. The Chilean Canadian defeated Thomas Barrios (111º) in two sets.
The first round was, however, more clearly favorable for the 51st in the ATP ranking. Despite a hesitant start, Alejandro Tabilo achieved an important break in the fifth game, which would have an impact on the development of the actions.
The thing is that after each one started winning his serve, the fifth game marked the first break in favor of Alejandro Tabilo. After that, the match became unbalanced in favor of the Chilean-Canadian, who ended up winning the set 6-2.
Second set
The second set was much more fought. Until the tenth game there was no break and it was only in defining instances that Tomás Barrios gave up his serve. The 111 of the ATP ranking started with a 0-40 down, but tried to reverse it, achieving a 30-40, which still resulted in a break.
