Fastned: Opening 27th Ultra-Fast Charging Station in Belgium with 400 kW Power

Even though the weather was not good, Fastned managers brought out the disco balls for the inauguration of 6 ultra-fast chargers with a power of 400 kW. Located on the Chaussée de Mons in Anderlues, it is the second installation of its kind in Wallonia and the 27th in Belgium.

This 27th Fastned station is located near the shopping center, between Binche and Anderlues. The opening of the charging point is part of the European ambition to open a charging station every 60 km along motorways and other major roads by 2026. The Fastned charging experience recently been named the best in Belgium by users of the Chargemap platform.

“The new Fastned station has six charging stations with a maximum capacity of 400 kW. Electric drivers can charge their cars there with renewable, solar and wind energy. The company will continue its mission to accelerate the transition to electric mobility by installing fast charging stations offering the fastest charging power,” communicates officials.

Anton Casteleyn, head of prospecting and purchasing at real estate company Relion, comments: “Fast chargers are a win-win solution for both the tenant, the owner and our customers. This is why we want to install them on all our sites, in supermarkets, DIY stores, fast food restaurants and retail parks. Customers can charge their cars while they go shopping, and for tenants, this is a benefit because it attracts people. For us, this generates additional rental income, which we in turn use for repair and renovation work on our sites. In this way, we too contribute to the energy transition. ” And Tuur De Coninck, Belgium country manager at Fastned continues: “The electrification of the vehicle fleet is taking on a considerable scale. As the market leader in Belgium, we remain ambitious to make electric driving as accessible as possible. Additional stations like these are essential because they take away the anxiety of range. They guarantee reliable fast charging, wherever it is needed. At Fastned, we pride ourselves on the speed and reliability of our chargers, and we’re always looking for new sites along busy roads. ”

In May last year, Fastned opened its very first station in Wallonia, at Baraque de Fraiture in Vielsalm. The goal is to reach 1,000 stations in Europe by 2030. Fastned was recently named Belgium’s best charging experience by Chargemap, the leading application that references most European charging networks.
