The HWInfo64 desktop hardware monitoring program received a new beta version 7.73-5370 with some new features, which include more system monitoring information displayed on the screen and the end of support for classic Windows XP.
The software no longer offers support for Windows XP due to compatibility issues with its newest feature, a on-screen display (OSD) which uses Intel PresentMon to display in-game tracking metrics.
It’s not the end of the world for XP users, as HWInfo64 still has legacy builds that can be downloaded and installed. However, the current version of the program will be the last to natively support Windows XP users.
The new OSD do HWInfo64 will allow a maximum of five items to be displayed in the free version of the software. The pro (paid) variant has no limits and allows you to run as many items as you want on the screen, such as FPS rate, CPU usage and temperature, GPU and more.
In addition to support for the new OSD, the new beta version brings some additional improvements. Sensor monitoring has been improved on Asus NUC series PCs and Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Pro WiFi, as well as fixes for some bugs present in previous versions.
Additionally, if the user needs to check their GPU’s bus voltage, UPS load, or remaining drive life of their SSD, HWInfo64 can monitor all of these as well. You can download the latest beta version of HWInfo64 in this link.
