Sports retailer from Mauthausen is bankrupt

According to the creditor protection association KSV1870 and AKV, 19 employees and 22 creditors are affected. The assets amount to around 287,000 euros and the liabilities amount to around 1.57 million euros.

The reasons for the bankruptcy are slumped sales in the sports retail sector and delivery delays for bicycles and e-bikes as a result of the corona pandemic. In addition, customer behavior has changed significantly in favor of online trading, and skis and ski equipment are often rented directly at the winter sports resort.

The company is divided into three sub-companies: sports, food and book stores. The lion’s share of sales was generated from the sports trade.

Increased rental, energy and personnel costs led to a negative continued existence forecast. The company is to be closed; according to AKV and KSV1870, restructuring is not intended.
