BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) — China’s Ministry of Public Security Wednesday (Feb. 28) Announced that a group of suspects were involved in cross-border telecommunications fraud affecting Chinese citizens. A total of 268 people have been deported from Laos into the custody of Chinese police.

These groups of suspects Including eight financial actors, 54 gang leaders and core members, they are involved in more than 1,570 related cases in various local areas in China. This crackdown is another important development in joint law enforcement cooperation between Chinese and Lao police.

The report said Chinese police sent a working group to Laos in January to carry out such cooperation. Police forces from the two countries raided several crime hot spots in Laos. They were able to arrest the suspects and seize more than 2,400 mobile phones and computers that were used to commit crimes.

The ministry pledged to strengthen cooperation in police affairs with relevant countries to hunt down the culprits. along with deterring related crimes Including protecting the safety of people’s lives and property. Currently, the related case is under investigation.
