The trade fair provides information on the topic of “Green Finance” – a platform for networking green projects and investors
Vienna (OTS) – Taking place on June 6, 2024 „The Green 100“the Climate and Energy Fund’s event on the topic of “green finance” for the first time together with the „Impact Days“ took place in the Vienna Hofburg. The aim is to bring more private capital into green projects and to support them in positioning themselves successfully on the financial market.
“The Green 100” is entering the next round and will once once more offer an important platform to numerous projects and companies in the areas of climate protection and climate change adaptation. The focus is on networking interested investors and projects with the aim of directing more private capital into green investments. This is to be achieved through two separate, parallel formats as part of “The Green 100”: A green finance trade fair with exhibitors of green financial products as well as information and services on the topic of “green finance” and a matchmaking session for green projects and investors.
Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler: “It was already clear at the successful start last year how important the mission of the trade fair is: to bring exciting projects to the forefront in order to direct investments towards a sustainable and climate-neutral future. This promotes innovation, creates jobs and strengthens the competitiveness of the economy. This year there are once more many good ideas that are waiting to be successfully implemented.”
Climate and Energy Fund Managing Director Bernd Little: “In order to achieve the climate goals, there needs to be increased mobilization of private capital for green projects. Changing framework conditions due to the implementation of the European Green Deal (e.g. EU taxonomy, CSRD) and the associated requirements and transparency regulations pose new challenges with regard to their financing. ‘The Green 100’ is intended to provide guidance and support.”
Die Green Finance Messe
The Green Finance trade fair is intended to show green projects that require capital concrete and attractive financing options as well as support options in order to make them investment-ready and successfully position them on the financial market. In addition, ecologically sustainable investment options as well as tools and comprehensive information that help consumers recognize and avoid green washing will be presented.
A supporting program with numerous topic-relevant panel discussions and workshops ensures variety.
Matchmaking for green projects and investors
This year, “The Green 100” is offering a matchmaking session parallel to the Green Finance trade fair.
Within this framework, green projects and companies are specifically “matched” with relevant investors at the Hofburg and networked in pre-arranged meetings. The aim is to initiate concrete investments in green projects and, if necessary, to initiate strategic partnerships. Separate conversation bunks ensure sufficient privacy. In addition, “speed dating” is offered between the projects and the investors in the matchmaking session.
