The Truth Behind Red Bull’s Relationship with RB: Debunking the Criticism

Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner has firmly defended Red Bull’s relationship with RB following criticism from McLaren CEO Zak Brown.

Zak Brown has spoken out in recent months regarding the closeness between the two businesses owned by Red Bull GmbH, with the Visa Cash Up RB team using RB19 components within F1 regulations. I have expressed my concerns multiple times.

RB Formula One team CEO Peter Beyer has rightly defended his team following accusations from Brawn at pre-season testing in Bahrain, but Horner also added that rather than criticizing Red Bull, , suggests that it should be praised.

“We need to look back at the history of where this started and why the ownership (of the two F1 teams) is the way it is now,” Horner told the media.

“Bernie Ecclestone and Max Mosley approached Dietrich Mateschitz in 2005 to buy the Minardi F1 team, which was in trouble and on the verge of bankruptcy.

“Dietrich stepped in, bought the team, turned it around, and invested heavily in a facility in Faenza, Italy.”

“Then we faced a financial crisis in 2008. Other manufacturers chose to take this opportunity to exit the sport. I think four manufacturers exited at that point, but Red Bull stood firm. He continued to support both teams with his attitude.”

“Then the regulations evolved and Faenza needed to become its own manufacturer, so investments were made in infrastructure.”

“Then COVID-19 happened, but even there Red Bull stepped up once more and stuck with both teams. In fact, with the two races introduced following the pandemic, Red Bull will restart F1 following COVID-19. I took responsibility.”

“The commitment that Red Bull has made to F1 and these two teams is therefore outstanding and should be celebrated and appreciated, rather than ridiculed or sought to be compromised.”

“The two teams are separate.”
Brown’s concerns echo RB’s own desire to forge a closer working relationship with Red Bull following failing to take full advantage of the current regulations under former team boss Franz Tost.

“The two teams are completely different,” insists Horner, adding:

“One is based in Italy and the other is based in the UK. There’s a lot more staff turnover with the team based in Italy and they end up in Milton Keynes. will also move to Maranello (Ferrari).

“They have different personalities, different characters, and ongoing regulatory compliance.”

“In fact, compared to some teams who have very close relationships with engine manufacturers, the relationship is much looser.”

“If I were Laurent (Mekies, new RB team boss) and this issue was brought up because of a change in stewardship, I would take it as a compliment.”

“The team had an opportunity to come together. They have two quality drivers, they are introducing quality personnel into the team and we are confident that they will not only compete with other teams in the field, but also with Red Bull. We hope to be a competitor for racing as well.”

“We are racers, there are no pre-set rules, there are no agreements between teams. And I think you can find a lot of highlights and scenarios that have been the case over the years. Toro Rosso cars He even parked in our pit garage during the championship-clinching race.

“So I don’t understand the fuss and I don’t understand what all the fuss is regarding. “Through the good times and especially the bad times, Red Bull has provided us with support and dedication and work through the good times and the bad times.

“So I don’t understand the fuss regarding it, I don’t understand the noise that’s been caused, and I think Red Bull should be commended for the support, dedication and work that they’ve actually provided.”

“So for me, it doesn’t matter at all.”
