São Paulo, February 27, 2024 – Microsoft Azure regions in Brazil have received important updates in recent months. To continue supporting local companies on their Digital Transformation journey and use of the cloud, these updates bring business benefits such as improvements in application performance and efficiency.
The new features also include new security tools for APIs and more economical and flexible storage pool options for organizations. There is also the launch of a data platform solution developed especially for the energy sector.

Azure Cache for Redis: Azure Cache for Redis Enterprise Edition takes the caching experience to a new level. This new option includes features such as active geo-distributed replication, persistent storage and support for Redis modules (Search, Bloom, TimeSeries and JSON), enabling unprecedented high availability and disaster recovery solutions. Azure NetApp Files support for 2 TiB capacity pools: You can now choose a minimum size of 2 TiB when creating a capacity pool with Azure NetApp Files – a high-performance, secure, and flexible enterprise file storage solution. Now, with these changes, customers with demands of less than 4 TiB now have access to more economical solutions, starting with a minimum of 2 TiB and the possibility of increasing by 1 TiB. Microsoft Defender for APIs General Availability: The recently released Azure Defender for APIs represents a security milestone for Azure API Management users. It provides advanced protection once morest a wide range of API security threats. Support for all valid Unicode characters in Azure Files: In October, Azure Files began supporting an expanded character set, enabling previously restricted file and directory names. As a result, users will be able to create SMB file shares with file and directory names at the same level as the NTFS file system, for valid Unicode characters. Additionally, the update allows tools like AzCopy and Storage to migrate files to Azure Files using the REST protocol. Check more details.
