The remains of the President of Namibia, Hage Gottfriend Geingob, who died on February 4th, a victim of illness, at the age of 86, will be buried today, starting at 10 am local time, at the Heroes Acre Memorial, in Windhoek.
The funeral ceremony will be attended by the current President of the Republic of Namibia, Nangolo Mbumba, his widow, Monica Geingos, the general secretary of the SWAPO party, Sophia Shaningwa, the first President, Sam Nujoma, as well as members of the Government, opposition parties, religious leaders, Namibian and foreign civil society.
In relation to foreign entities, the presence of 27 African Heads of State and Government has been confirmed, including President João Lourenço, who has been in the Namibian capital since Friday, in the company of the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço .
Yesterday, the day was reserved for the reading of praise and tributes to Hage G. Geingob that were made by several national and international political entities, with greater emphasis on the leaders of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), represented by Angolan President João Lorenzo.
