Vienna (OTS) – On the first weekend in March 2024, the streets will be a little quieter than on some of the previous Saturdays and Sundays. According to ARBÖ, the two days will not be completely without delays. The reason for this is the excursion traffic to the ski areas, the “Boot Tulln” and the “Electric Callboy” concert in the Wiener Stadthalle.
The traffic in the morning and during the morning on Saturday will be dominated by skiers’ excursions to the ski areas. Experience has shown that the first delays will be reported before the Bludenz/Montafon exit and Silvretta Straße (L188) in Montafon in Vorarlberg. A little later, patience will also be required on Bregenzerwald Straße (L200). In Tyrol, skiers who travel with their own vehicle should do more, especially in the ski valleys such as the Paznauntal on the Silvretta Straße (B188), the Kaunertal on the Reschen Straße (B180), the Pitztal or the Ötztal on the Ötztalstraße (B186). Bring some time. In the lowlands, the valleys where it will take the longest for skiers to arrive and depart are the Zillertal with the Zillertalstraße (B169) and the Brixental with the Loferer Straße (B178). Block clearance in front of the Brettfalltunnel on the B169 is very likely, at least temporarily.
The longest traffic jams and delays will certainly be at the construction site on the Tauernautobahn (A10) between Golling andwerfen in Salzburg. Here, traffic jams and block handling in front of the tunnel portal, especially in front of the Helbersberg tunnel, the Hiefler tunnel and the Ofenau tunnel are almost certain from the morning until the followingnoon. “The start of the holidays and the end of the school-free days in parts of Slovakia and the Czech Republic will have little impact on the transit routes in the east and south and even less on those in the west,” says ARBÖ traffic expert Thomas Haider.
Currently: “Boot Tulln” brings tens of thousands of visitors to the trade fair city
Water sports enthusiasts and those who want to become one will probably only have one destination in Eastern Austria next weekend – the exhibition center in Tulln. The “Austrian BoatShow-Boot Tulln” opens its doors on Thursday, February 29th, 2024. Until Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, visitors can find out more regarding everything from A for equipment to F for fun sports to Z for accessories in 7 halls from over 360 exhibitors from Europe and overseas.
Especially on the mornings of Saturday and Sunday, there will be more or less long traffic jams on the Stockerauer Expressway (S5) in front of the Tulln exit and on Tullner Straße (B19) between the S5 and the old Danube bridge.
The ARBÖ tip: Drive on the B19 from the Tulln exit to the Rosenbrücke and on to the exhibition center. Boot Tulln is also easily accessible by public transport. Shuttle buses run to the exhibition center from the Tulln and Tullnerfeld train stations every 20 minutes.
Currently: “ELECTRIC CALLBOY” causes traffic jams in Vienna
On Friday, March 1st, 2024, “ELECTRIC CALLBOY” will be performing in Hall D of the Wiener Stadthalle. The performance of the 6-piece metalcore/trancecore band from Castrop-Rauxel, Germany, as part of the TEKKNO WORLD TOUR begins at 7:30 p.m. Songs like “Tekkno Train”, “Castrop X Spandau” or “Best Day” will attract thousands of fans to Vienna’s 15th district. Experience has shown that many of them travel by motor. According to ARBÖ traffic experts, this will cause traffic jams and longer delays on Gablenzgasse, Hütteldorfer Straße and the Neubauzeile during Friday evening traffic. A lot of patience may also be required when looking for a parking space on the streets in the Nibelungenviertel.
“If the search for a parking space was successful, the general short-term parking zone and the residents’ parking spaces might quickly dampen the joy. The short-term parking zones allow parking until 10 p.m. for a maximum of 2 hours. The resident parking spaces are only reserved for vehicles with parking stickers from the 15th district,” says ARBÖ traffic expert Tomas Haider. The Wiener Stadthalle is easily accessible by subway line 6, tram lines 6, 9, 18, 49 and bus line 48A.
