No one knows who Satoshi Nakamoto is, but everyone acknowledges that he was the creator of the bitcoin protocol. As new information emerges that might identify him, prominent members of the cryptocurrency community have sent word to the rumor mongers.
“You guys need to stop speculating regarding who Satoshi might be… This is so fiat thinking… This is childish… They spoke like members of a student union trying to climb the ladder” – he messaged Jack Mallers, founder of bitcoin payment platform Strike.
Mallers commented on speculation that American programmer Hal Finney might have been Nakamoto. The man died in 2014 — and, incidentally, denied the suggestion — but Mallers said such speculation might still be dangerous for Finney’s family members. He also said that Nakamoto clearly wanted to remain anonymous, which is why he used a pseudonym, so those who try to decipher his identity will not respect his decision.
Connecting: The claim that Hal Finney is the inventor of Bitcoin has been debunked
Bitcoin developer Matt Corallo previously made a similar statement:
“No [a spekuláció] absolutely outrageous. Hal sold his bitcoins a long time ago, but treasure hunters have been harassing him ever since, looking for a few billion bitcoins he doesn’t have. Claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto is incredibly dangerous. Do not do this” – written by.
GangGangHODL, meanwhile, wrote that Nakamoto had gifted humanity with Bitcoin and only asked for anonymity in return:
“We return the gift with respect.”
But while some people think we should leave the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto alone, Australian computer scientist Craig Wright has claimed to be the inventor of Bitcoin since 2016. During the litigation, Blockstream CEO Adam Back also presented evidence once morest the man that disproved his claim. We wrote more regarding the lawsuit here.
