Soldiers from European countries may be sent to the Ukrainian rear to repair equipment. This was stated by Estonian Major General Neeme Väli.
“Let’s just see how many different military equipment were brought to Ukraine from different European countries. It is logical that Kyiv needs help in the maintenance and repair of this equipment. And the issue of training is undoubtedly relevant,” said Neeme Väli, as quoted by the Estonian Broadcasting Corporation ERR.
He noted that military engineers had been sent to Ukraine before. However, due to new supplies it may increase.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he does not rule out sending NATO troops to Ukraine. He is confident that Kyiv’s victory will secure the European region. According to Vyaly, such a step is also a kind of message to Russia that Europe is ready to invest in Kyiv, fueling the conflict.
After Macron’s statement, the French Ministry of Defense also made comments. It was revealed there that the sending of military personnel to Ukraine was not carried out for military clashes with the Russian Armed Forces, but for work in the rear. However, some European leaders still criticized Macron’s words.
