Iuli Tsakalou writes
Francis Doukakis was born in Piraeus. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts between 1984 and 1989. In the first year (preliminary) his teacher was Triantafyllos Patraskidis.
Then he continued in the laboratory of P. Tetsis from where he graduated with honors. He has held many solo exhibitions in Art Galleries such as the Historical Archive Museum of Hydra, the Municipal Art Gallery of Piraeus, the Melina Merkouri Cultural Center, etc. and has taken part in many group exhibitions. His works are in various museums, the Ministry of Culture and private collections.
As the artist himself states: “Clean shapes and colors organized so that one highlights the other is a feature of my work, my way this works as a background to emphasize the place, time and emotional atmosphere in each work”.
The exhibition includes paintings (oil on canvas), landscapes of Hydra, Antiparos, Salamis and Piraeus.
