Exploring Fun and Creative School Uniform Ideas: From Hogwarts to Starfleet

This Monday marks the start of the experiment with school uniforms at school, not without creating many debates. Beyond the two key questions “Isn’t this retrograde?” » and “Wasn’t there something better to do with this public money? “, a third question arises: “Wouldn’t this costume be a little sad? »

A dull blue as possible (excuse me the government, but do you know THE COLOR?), curves and cuts (too) sober, creativity close to zero… Even if it means wanting to dictate the clothes of the kids, we might have hoped for something more flashy.

Pop culture, for its part, has never held back from offering models that are a little more fun. We asked Moïra Cristescu, fashion designer of the eponymous brand, to find the strong point and the weak point of the most cult uniforms that we have selected.

Hogwarts students (Harry Potter)

Why did we think of this uniform?

Firstly, it has the immense advantage of being already designed for students. And also because, removing the slightly ridiculous wizard’s hat (which disappears by itself from the third film in the saga as it no longer fits with the serious universe), we must admit that this outfit is much more striking than our French uniforms. Weren’t we supposed to be the style champions?

And wouldn’t that be better for our French students? – Warner Bros – Harry Potter

The strong point of the uniform according to Moïra Cristescu:

“In addition to its timeless and classic ‘British’ side, it allows you to immediately identify which Hogwarts school house the student comes from. The uniform remains the same, with the exception of the badge and tie, which match the color codes. »

The weak point according to Moïra Cristescu:

“If the fact that this uniform is loose makes it possible to dramatize the movements, in particular the magic wand waves, we often feel in the fight scenes that the actors are hampered by its wide and flared sleeves” So imagine for the famous football derby CM1 versus CM2 at recess.

Les Stormtroopers (Star Wars) :

Why did we think of this uniform?

Even if it means wanting to “rearm” National Education, a word dear to Emmanuel Macron, we might as well do things to the end. A martial outfit that prepares children to bellow the Marseillaise at the top of their lungs during Universal National Service, another great mantra of Macronie.

The strong point of the uniform according to Moïra Cristescu:

“It perfectly manages to dehumanize the wearer, because each Stormtrooper is difficult to distinguish from the others. Moreover, at first glance, we might think that they are robots and not simply armor worn by humans. This uniform is also instantly recognizable, it has even become a pop culture icon. »

The weak point according to Moïra Cristescu:

“This shell has the faults of its qualities. Although it allows for anonymization thanks to its rigid shells separated by joints, it is not easy to move around with it. Proof of this is the famous scene kept in editing in A New Hope, where a Stormtrooper hits his head while passing through the door to the control room. » And given the shortage of school nurses, we might as well avoid unnecessary injuries.

Starfleet crew (Star Trek)

Why did we think of this uniform?

It’s very nice to rearm National Education with SNU and uniforms, but if it’s to have skills in maths – as the latest PISA rankings suggest – it’s not much use. So let’s go to the most scientific universe of all pop culture with Star Trek, just to enrich brains more than biceps. And what’s more, there are COLORS.

It's flashy, it's scientific, it's peaceful, it's Star TrekIt’s flashy, it’s scientific, it’s peaceful, it’s Star Trek – Star Trek/Sipa

The strong point of the uniform according to Moïra Cristescu:

“The graphics of its design perfectly embodies the futuristic style, with its geometric cutouts and the color block juxtaposing two contrasting colors. Here too, a character’s rank or position is indicated by the use of a specific color for a yoke of the same uniform. »

The weak point according to Moïra Cristescu:

“He wasn’t always flattering. Certain periods, such as in 1979’s Star Trek: The Motion Picture, saw tight spandex jumpsuits with a very unsexy pajama effect. »

The Heist Team (La Casa de Papel)

Why did we think of this uniform?

We too, at the time of baby teeth and the playground, found that the school was (sometimes) a penal colony, looking at the fence of the courtyard like the bars of a prison. So, what might be better than tapping into the Casa de Papel, its big-hearted bandits and robbers, to satisfy the kids and their desire to skip school?

The strong point of the uniform according to Moïra Cristescu:

“In addition, here too, to anonymize, the strong point of this combination is quite simply to be practical! Worn with the hood up and Dalí’s mask to form a gang once morest the police, but unzipable on the front, to allow each character to reappropriate it: open it and reveal the clothes worn underneath, only put it on in pants… and thus to more easily distinguish each personality. Bonus point for the presence of pockets! Between its red color and its effective unisex cut, it contributes to the aesthetic of the series. »

The weak point according to Moïra Cristescu:

“If we had to find one, it would be that it cannot hide the size of those who wear it, which still allows us to guess certain characters when we already know them. » Yes, you at the back of the class, we saw you.
