Objective top 15 of -70kg
This is Ziam’s fifth victory in the UFC, the 3rd in a row following his successes once morest Herbert and Figlak. When their victory was announced, the Habs did not seem satisfied with their performance. “Victory is the most important thing, because it’s what will bring him closer to his goals,” notes Taylor Lapilus, consultant for RMC Sport 2. “If he lost this fight tonight, he would go backwards clearly. Even if it’s not the performance he expected, it keeps him on the right path.”
“I feel good, I thought I had him in the first round, reacted the Frenchman. He’s a big grappler, I proved that my grappling was up to par. I got out of his submission. It was enough close and only victory counts.” Fares Ziam now hopes to get closer to the top 15 of -70kg, a very dense category in which another Frenchman, Benoit Saint Denis, shines.
