Spring… finally, for a few days at least, as the weather is changing and even radically with Clearchos Marousakis talking regarding a storm line that will sweep Greece.

With his post on Facebook, Mr. Marousakis emphasized that this change is due to a system coming from Italy whose main characteristic is rains and storms.

Clearchos Marousakis’ post in detail:

“LAILAPAS LINE WILL SWEEP THE COUNTRY

The weather in our country is expected to worsen on Sunday and from west to east with the main characteristics being heavy rains – storms, but also locally very strong and even stormy south winds.

This development is due to the displacement of a depression (barometric low accompanied by bad weather fronts) from the area of Italy further east, creating along the cold front a zone of storms of long length and small width which will sweep a large part of our country and with emphasis on western, central and southern geographical divisions.

The map below from our weather model shows this heat line with a snapshot taken from the time series of forecast data we received for the early hours of Monday with the band of storms (heat line) well formed as the cold depression front (blue curve with small arrows) moves away from eastern mainland Greece and enters the Aegean Sea with an estimated length of this storm zone possibly approaching or even exceeding 500 km. This will also be the time (Monday morning hours) where we estimate that the prefecture of Attica will be affected by a short, but with great intensity, passage of storms.

We show the required attention!’
