As the police announced on Wednesday, he received an email last week, ostensibly from his bank. In it, criminals asked him to update his access data for online banking via a link. The fraudsters then called the man and said there had been a mistake and that he should confirm the chargeback via the bank app. The victim complied with six transfers.
“Delete emails immediately”
The police advise you to delete emails immediately if they ask for personal information. Such messages may also contain malware in the attached files. In addition, secure passwords should be used and changed regularly. Different passwords should be used in social media accounts and the associated email account.
