The Sonatel group achieves a net profit of 331.7 billion FCFA at the end of the 2023 financial year. An increase of 52.8 billion FCFA compared to the 278.9 billion FCFA recorded as of December 31, 2022.
According to Sonatel, this result allows it to consolidate its leading position in each of the markets of the countries of presence made up of Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone.

The Sonatel Group, present in 5 countries (Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Guinea Bissau and Sierra Leone), achieved good performance for the 2023 financial year and achieved its objectives thanks to significant investments to support the growing needs of customers in a context volatile, marked by increasing competitive intensity and socio-economic challenges. According to a press release which reached us, this success allows it to consolidate its leading position in each of its markets. Sonatel is also strengthening its contribution to development with nearly 1,000 billion donated to the economies of the countries of presence. The Sonatel Group also contributed positively to the balance of payments of States to the tune of 77 billion FCFA thanks to international communications comparable to exports. The number of active mobile data customers of the Group stands at 19.1 million, an increase of +10.1% compared to 2022. “ The active 4G base reached 14.4 million customers, an increase of +35.5% compared to 2022. This solid performance is favored by the strengthening of the deployment of very high speed (4G/4G+). The Sonatel Group’s ambition to offer full 4G mobile networks in all its countries of presence is already a reality in Senegal and Mali », underlines Sonatel. The Orange Money customer base reaches 31.6 million customers, an increase of +19.8% compared to 2022 thanks to the diversification of the portfolio of offers and the price adjustments carried out in several countries. The fixed broadband customer base has 741 thousand customers, including 659 thousand Fiber and Flybox customers, an increase of 25.1%. The scaling up and democratization of optical fiber are at the heart of the Sonatel Group’s strategic project. Also, from only 15,000 CFA francs per month, households can subscribe to optical fiber with 710 thousand optical fiber sockets deployed by the end of 2023, mainly in Senegal and Mali.
