Xbox took advantage of the 25 years of the Age of Empires license to lift the veil on Age of Mythology Retold, a brand new version of the cult RTS released in 2002. The developers had confided that they should not expect a remake, but rather a treatment similar to the “Definitive Edition” of Age of Empires. It had been confirmed that graphical and gameplay improvements were planned. Today, the developers have finally lifted the veil on what to expect, and confirmed its release date for 2024 on Xbox and PC!

Unfortunately, we were not treated to a gameplay presentation, but simply to a very detailed overview of the work carried out on three of the units in the game. That said, images were shared later, allowing us to get a first in-game preview (see at the end of the article).
Players can expect an engine update, quality of life improvements, new 3D models, new animations, new textures, new user interface and new visual effects.

Age of Mythology Retold will be available in 2024 on Xbox and PC. It will obviously be integrated into Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.
