The ban on the sale of dietary supplements containing spirulina has been announced by the National Medicines Organization (EOF).
The announcement:
“The ban on the circulation and distribution of the food supplement VITAMIR SPIROULINA 500MG of the company OLYMP HANDELS GmbH, Germany (supplier), following being informed that it contains polycyclic hydrocarbons (RAHs) that exceed the maximum legally permitted limits. The supply of the above product was made from Germany.
The product is also not notified to the EOF. The companies that have procured it are obliged to implement the present. This decision is a preventive measure for the defense of Public Health”.
