As the well-known director Sotiris Tsafoulias said during the presentation of his book at the Theocharakis Foundation, Christos Petropoulos with his book highlights a new kind of writing, as he manages through direct writing and description to create images that take the reader on a journey in World War II but at the same time helps him to get to know unknown aspects of history.

The Scout is a historical novel based on true events set in World War II. It describes two stories of German Wehrmacht Sergeant Luther Seifert and constable Paris Vogiatzopoulos who are seemingly unrelated but know the brutality, cruelty and loss in occupied Piraeus and the Eastern Front

In the pages of the book, the two protagonists finally meet when the murders begin, which turn it from a war into a detective novel, as well as the theft of holy icons and relics of the Orthodox church by dark circles.

The journalist Panos Amyras, the composer and performer Michalis Hatzigiannis spoke to a packed room of journalists, people of the spirit and culture regarding the in-depth research on the battlefields, society and the diseases of the era that changed the “r” of history. the director Sotiris Tsafoulias, the professor of epistemology, history and ethics of the School of Medicine Marianna Karamanou with the coordinator of the journalist Costas Tsouros.

Christos Petropoulos dedicated The Detector to the women journalists who fight every day, stand out and lead in a difficult area, while the cover of the book, which stood out for its perfection, inspiration and color rendering, was designed by the author’s son Demis Petropoulos.
