The Płock club was preparing for the second part of the season from January 8, first at its facilities, then during a 10-day training camp in Turkey. During this time, the team played seven control matches, of which they won four, drew one and lost two.
Nearly 30 players participated in the classes, including five new ones who joined the team during the preparation period: Mieszko Lorenc, Marcus Haglind-Sangre, Oskar Tomczyk, Jarosław Jach and, at the last moment, the top scorer of the 2nd Swedish league, Jesper Vestermark.
Wisła played its first league match this year on February 10. In the outstanding match of the 17th round in Rzeszów, they won a 2-2 draw with Resovia.

After 19 rounds, the Oilers are seventh in the table with 30 points. In total, so far Wisła has won eight matches, drawn six and lost five. Next to GKS Tychy, it is the team that has won the most – seven matches at its home stadium.
Marek Saganowski worked with the team from the beginning of the season until October 25. A day later, Dariusz Żuraw took over the team. Since then, the team has recorded four wins, two draws and one defeat.
After the winter break, the “Crane team” should be running on the pitch. According to the coach, the team should look better and better. “Our goal – to score points – does not change. If we want to achieve something, we have to score points. We worked throughout the preparation period to make the change in playing style visible, especially in defense,” explained the coach.
He also assured that there was no revolution in the team’s squad. “We were looking for players for specific positions. Unfortunately, it is not always the case that new players will immediately step into their roles and play in the first team. Apart from Jesper Vestermark, we worked with everyone from the first day of pre-season. Each player knows what his tasks are on the pitch and what we require and expect from him,” Żuraw noted.
The match between Lechia Gdańsk and Wisła Płock is scheduled for February 17, starting at 20:00. Live coverage and live score on Polsatsport.pl.
