The Société Gabonaise de Raffinage (SOGARA) in a press release denied the announcement inviting job seekers to apply during a recruitment campaign launched by the company.
« We would like to inform the public that SOGARA is in no way the origin of this publication and that we have not, to date, launched any recruitment campaign », I indicated SOGARA.
The only refiner of Gabonese petroleum products warned that he reserves “thethe right to initiate legal proceedings once morest the unscrupulous persons at the origin of this false publication ».
The alleged campaign is launched via social networks. The authors usurped the SOGARA logo and put online a supposedly free form to fill out to apply. However, this form is actually used to collect personal data and then extort money from job seekers.
SOGARA is a public company which was created in November 1964, under the name SER (Equatorial Refining Company). The company had its head office in Port-Gentil, Gabon in 1967. It became Société Gabonaise de Raffinage in 1973 following the purchase by Gabon of the shares of the other founding member countries of the company (Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo and Chad).
The company currently employs around 300 people and refines one million crude oils per year.
