The Welcome Connect platform, which facilitates the connection between beneficiaries of humanitarian parole and potential sponsors, reopens its registrations this February 20.
However, it is important to highlight that Cubans have faced difficulties with the page, since Welcome US has indicated that they do not have enough sponsors for the current demand.
How do I register for Welcome Connect?
Welcome Connect registration is continuous, but limited and scheduled. The registration page opens the third Tuesday of each month.
But, once the enrollment limit for a program is reached, enrollment will be paused once more until the next month. The next opening dates at Welcome Connect are February 20, March 19 and April 16.
It’s important to note that once you reach the registration threshold for a program, you won’t be able to try once more until the following month. Therefore, it is advisable to check the page on the designated day of each month for the opportunity to register for Welcome Connect.
What time does Welcome Connect open?
Registration will open at 3 PM Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This means that if you are in Nicaragua, registration will open at 9 am (Central Standard Time); in Haiti or Cuba, at 10 am (Eastern Standard Time); in Venezuela, at 11:00 a.m. (Atlantic Standard Time); and in Ukraine, at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern European time).
In the page, beneficiaries will fill out a profile with basic information regarding themselves. Once completed, they will be able to view potential sponsors and select up to 7 to send them a message. Please note that a sponsor will not be able to view a beneficiary’s profile until the beneficiary has sent them a message.
Welcome Connect continues to look for sponsors. As they point out from the platform, “Sponsorship is one of the few safe ways for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, Ukrainians and Venezuelans to find refuge in the United States.”
