Kyle Frederick, Michael Irvine and Kyle Dean are three firefighters who work in the same station. They knew that their wives were regarding to give birth, but did not imagine that it would happen on the same day, as relayed by our colleagues from The Washington Post newspaper, in an article published on March 30, 2022.
An astonishing coincidence
These three firefighters from Fairfax County in the state of Virginia in the United States, became close friends following three years working at Station No. 465 of the Fort Belvoir army base. The three colleagues were surprised to find that their babies were born within 24 hours at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.
Michael Irive said that when his wife went into labor and he took her to the hospital, he informed the nurses: “I just wanted to warn you: two of my colleagues are coming too!” “.
Frederick and Irvine’s wives and Dean’s fiancée all had due dates a few weeks apart, but they arrived at the hospital quickly that day.
“We all knew we would have boys and that we would all take paternity leave around the same time,” Irvine said. He added that they didn’t expect to welcome their babies on the same day.
Close births
Meagan Irvine was the first to give birth at 3:25 a.m. to her fourth child and first boy.
Jamie Frederick is the second mother to have given birth but by cesarean section. She had to have this operation three weeks before the due date when her doctor noticed that the baby was in the breech position.
About four hours later, Dean and Andrea Nunley welcomed their first child.
It didn’t take long before the entire hospital named the three dads “the fantastic three.” The colleagues hope that their children will one day be able to become friends, hang out with each other and, why not, share a passion for the same profession.
The men did not think that news of the birth of their babies would spread beyond the barracks. A local television station contacted them a month later to ask them to share their story. “People are looking for news that makes them feel good right now,” Frederick said. “We are all happy to cheer them up a little. »
