Haapsalu Vocational Education Center held an open day today, where they introduced the majors offered at the school to primary school students, higher schools had come to introduce themselves to students already studying at the school, and at the same time, vocational mastery competitions were held at the school.
All the schools of Läänemaa had come to familiarize themselves with the vocational education center, in addition to them also the schools of Lihula, Turba, Valgu, Ĥsmäe, Laagri and Märjamaa. In total, nearly 200 students visited the school. The students of primary schools were given tours of the school and they might participate in various workshops. The tours were conducted and the workshops were supervised by vocational school students.
According to Tiia Tiisler, the headmaster of the vocational school, the workshops for making burgers and stick cakes filled up the fastest, but all the workshops where you might make something with your own hands went quickly.
While the house was full of new students, the school was also visited by the professional mastery contestants. These were internal school competitions, where the student representing Haapsalu school in the Young Master competition was determined. At the same time, competitions were held for maids, carpenters, millwrights and computer gurus.
