Chances for Heerenveen, but Go Ahead scores

In the 56th minute, Go Ahead Eagles took the lead once morest odds. Mats Deijl shot a free kick once morest the post just under 30 meters from the goal, following which Jakob Breum netted the rebound.
Breum even seemed to double the lead with an hour on the clock, but goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart was able to clear the ball from the intersection.
Loizou makes his debut
Heerenveen then went in search of the equalizer with substitute and debutant Loizos Loizou. However, the energy in Kees van Wonderen’s team seemed to be lacking in the final phase. When Victor Edvardsen made it 0-2 in the 92nd minute, Heerenveen’s fate was finally sealed.
