Although they won easily, Liverpool were in huge trouble

A day before the match once morest Brentford, Liverpool fans received another terrible news. It’s not enough that Dominik Szoboszlai, Thiago and Trent Alexander-Arnold have renewed their previous injuries, and in addition to them, Stefan Bajcetic and Joel Matip have not been able to be used for a long time, it turned out that Alisson also fell out of the lineup in the past few days. The Brazilian goalkeeper suffered a hamstring injury.

Perhaps the large number of absentees contributed to this, in any case, Liverpool might not find the rhythm at home to Brentford. The home team created at least as many chances as the Reds. A lightning-quick counterattack gave Liverpool the advantage. After Virgil van Dijk’s release, Diogo Jota received the ball on the halfway line, headed it to Darwin Núnez, who this time took aim and lifted it past Mark Flekken from fifteen yards.

Liverpool’s injury list has expanded

Despite the goal, Jürgen Klopp’s problems continued to grow. Two more people joined the long list of injured in the first half.

Curtis Jones went down first, then Diogo Jota, who was in great shape, left the pitch on a stretcher. Thus, the Liverpool master had to use Mohamed Szalah as well, while the Egyptian winger only recovered from his injury in the last few days. And it’s not too encouraging for the Reds that Nunez didn’t come out of the dressing room for the second half either, even though based on his game, Klopp had no reason to replace him…

What can make Liverpool fans happy is that Salah returned to the field as if nothing had happened. In the first match following his forced break of almost a month, he first distributed a goal assist to Alexis Mac Allister, and then completed an attack himself. Brentford had a chance to score a goal, but Cody Gakpo, who replaced Nunez in the 86th minute, restored the three-goal difference.

Liverpool beat Brentford 4-1 and are five points ahead of Manchester City, who played two games less. Brentford are ranked 14th in the Premier League tabellaján.
