A new bill for the operation of Interprofessional Organizations is coming at the end of February – 2024-02-17 15:54:27

A new bill for the operation of Interprofessional Organizations in Greece is “brought” by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food at the end of February, with the responsible Minister Lefteris Avgenakis calling on the heads of the organizations to immediately submit proposals to improve their operation.

“We are bringing a new bill that will introduce changes, cuts and improvements in the operation of Interprofessionals and we want you all as our allies” pointed out Lefteris Avgenakisduring his live online presentation at the 2nd Panhellenic Rice Conference, held in Thessaloniki, and which he inaugurated.

The pan-Hellenic conference is organized by the National Interprofessional Organization of Greek Rice (EDOREL). During his presentation, Mr. Avgenakis noted that “unfortunately, only eight Interprofessional Organizations operate in Greece” and saying that their increase is a priority for the FSA, he announced that the formation of four more is expected soon. “How come we don’t have Interprofessional Organizations in products like honey, peaches and oil?” asked Mr. Avgenakis.

“We believe in the mission and role of Interprofessional organizations. We are in favor of cooperation” noted the minister, adding: “we want to strengthen even more, by providing incentives, the establishment of groups of producers and cooperatives”.

During his presentation, according to newsit, Mr. Avgenakis referred to Greece’s initiative to submit six improvement proposals to the EU together with the nine countries of the South, which together form Eu Med 9, stressing that “unofficially, but we have already received the “green light” to our requests”. He also reminded that on 26.2.2024 the alliance of nine that make up Eu Med will have its second meeting.

“We’re on the same side of the river”

“We are on the same side of the bank, we know your problems and we are fighting with you to solve them” said the minister addressing the people of the primary sector who are in mobilizations, he called on them not to burden the citizens with their actions and actions, but neither to create obstacles and delays in the movement of goods.

“We are at your disposal,” said Mr. Avgenakis, noting that the meeting held with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is proof that we support the primary sector and “we have all the good will to work together to take it to the top.” After all, as he said, it is “self-evident our cooperation yesterday, now, tomorrow and forever”.
