“I mightn’t believe my eyes when I was paying for tuna kimbap. “When did it get this high?”

This is a post that was recently posted on an online community. The suffering of ordinary people who are feeling the rapidly rising prices is getting worse day by day.

According to ‘Participation Price’, the Korea Consumer Agency’s comprehensive price information portal, on the 16th, the price of gimbap in Seoul was calculated to be 3,323 won.

The price of kimbap rose to 3,100 won in January last year and has remained at the 3,000 won level. The price of kimbap, which was 3,292 won until last November, has now settled in the 3,300 won range.

In particular, the price of kimbap has been rising for four consecutive months from September to December last year.

The situation of other foreign food plants is not much different. As of this day in Seoul, a bowl of Jajangmyeon is 7,069 won, kalguksu is 9,038 won, cold noodles are 11,385 won, pork belly is 19,429 won, samgyetang is 16,848 won, bibimbap is 10,654 won, and kimchi stew is 8,000 won.

In Seoul, there are only three menu items that can be had for less than 10,000 won: jajangmyeon, kalguksu, and kimchi stew baekban.

Netizens also commented through online communities, “It’s been a while since I thought regarding ordering kimbap, but the price is surprising,” and “The price has risen too much.” They poured out complaints such as “Jjajangmyeon is no longer a food for the common people,” “I thought it was expensive even when kimbap was 2,500 won, but it has gone up too much over the past few years,” and “I’m scared to go out and eat.”
