“This year it is once once more evident how much is happening in Austrian children’s and youth literature. Not only are there new publishers and newly established publishing programs, there is also a wealth of young talent who are writing and illustrating children’s and youth literature at the highest level “And then there are the tried and tested and established artists who once once more show what topics, subjects and writing and illustration styles are possible in this art form,” State Secretary for Culture Andrea Mayer (Greens) was quoted as saying in a broadcast on Friday .
A total of 75 books from 30 publishers were submitted. The award ceremony will take place on April 18th in Eisenstadt.
