The police have not yet identified the mother of the newborn who was found dead in Suure-Lähtru on Monday of last week, but they will not end the search until all possible versions have been checked.
Work with searches is done every day: both the landscape and every piece of information that has reached the police are checked. “We have been dealing with this case every day from morning to night,” said Andrei Taratuhin, head of the Haapsalu police station. According to him, a team of at least five members works on the case every day, whose working days are longer than usual, and colleagues from other departments are also involved if necessary.
Investigating what might have happened in Suure-Lähtrus may take a long time. „Maybe tomorrow there will be a clue that will help us to a solution,†said Taratuhin. „If this hint does not come, then we have to discover it as a result of long work. In this case, it is difficult to talk regarding time frames. At the moment, I don’t see that it is possible to give a follow-up anywhere until all possible versions have been checked and analyzed by experts. Until then, we’ll deal with it.â€
