The management of 1. FC Köln announced in an open letter to the DFL, a copy of which all clubs were said to have received, that the “decision made for a negotiation and conclusion mandate from the DFL Executive Board is based on a very fragile foundation. “
The letter signed by the three FC managing directors and written on February 14th is available to BILD and covers three pages. The “Sportschau” reported first.
It goes on to say that with regard to the controversial vote by Hanover managing director Martin Kind, there is a suspicion that “there has been a violation of the 50+1 rule.” Kind presumably voted “yes” and would have decided the vote, although his club had told him to reject it.
After a question from the BILD reporter, Tuchel evades the question – then the press spokesman intervenes

For an investor to get involved, the people of Cologne demand “the establishment of legal certainty and acceptance”. In the letter, the FC announced that it would send the DFL bosses “a formal application in a timely manner in order to exempt the DFL executive board from the final mandate issued by the general meeting.”
The decision on the investor deal should go back to the 36 DFL clubs. If it is necessary to call an extraordinary general meeting to vote on this application, Cologne will also submit an application for this, the letter says.
Because of the protests: The FC wants to involve fans
Cologne explicitly demands: “Let us therefore give all clubs another opportunity to comprehensively explain the individual club voting behavior to the respective members and fans. Experience shows that decisions are always highly accepted when those affected are made participants.”
The club further writes: “Under no circumstances should the current fan protests continue in the long term or even increase. The scenario of games being canceled no longer seems unthinkable.”
Cologne voted once morest the DFL’s planned investor deal. The Bundesliga 16th has repeatedly expressed criticism publicly regarding this.
In addition to Cologne, several other clubs from the 1st and 2nd leagues are positive regarding a new vote on the planned investor entry into the Bundesliga. Claus Vogt, President of VfB Stuttgart, has clearly supported the call for a new vote. Hansa Rostock and Karlsruher SC are also calling for another vote. According to their own statements, all three clubs voted for the investor entry.
Union Berlin, Eintracht Braunschweig and Hertha BSC, which voted once morest an investor deal, are also calling for a new vote. This is also the case with VfL Osnabrück, who announced in advance that they would abstain.
