Marathon runner Kelvin Kiptum dies in car accident

The ruling one the world record holder in marathon running, set the world record, 2.00.35, in the Chicago Marathon in October 2023. The previous one was 2.01.09, set by compatriot Eliud Kipchoge in 2022.

“A fantastic athlete who leaves an incredible legacy. We will miss him very much,” writes the International Association of Athletics Federations President Sebastion Coe at X.

Kelvin Kiptum turned 24 years old.
