Now the 40-year-old has revealed details regarding her mountain of debt.
Nude model Micaela Schäfer (40) confessed last week to having a mountain of debt worth 1.41 million francs. The revealing model earns an average of around 3,000 euros for every appearance she is booked for. But according to her own statements, she will have to work for “many, many years” until she has repaid her loan debts.
However, Micaela hasn’t just thrown money around in the past. Rather, she “set priorities” and invested her assets. “I’m just clever,” said the entertainer. Now she has given more information regarding her debts in the “From 17” podcast.
Micaela Schäfer: “It’s positive debt”
The 40-year-old admits in the podcast that she has invested in real estate over the past twelve years: “It’s positive debt. It’s escalated a bit, I admit. A lot has accumulated. I kept buying because I kept getting loans.”
The problem was that she bought even though she had no money, said Schäfer. “So I financed two properties 100 percent.” She was “totally surprised” to find that she didn’t have to pay anything. The commitment to fully finance two apartments was a “relatively quick decision”.
However, financing her first property purchases didn’t work out so easily: “I had to put down a lot of equity because of course they didn’t believe that a nude model might repay a loan,” explains Micaela.
Only following the value of her first properties “increased incredibly” did she have security. “But in principle nothing is certain. “So I might be bankrupt in a few years,” the nude model concluded.
