Talks between Brighton and Chelsea continue to sign Moisés Caicedo. The negotiation is advanced and close to closing, however, the Ecuadorian’s club is looking for more than what the ‘Blues’ expect to pay.

After repeated polls and having settled the terms with the tricolor footballer, the London team launched into direct negotiations with those from Sussex. The team adopted an offensive stance and seeks to close the transfer as soon as possible, so the dialogues are at a crucial moment.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a European transfer specialist, the clubs have been constantly working to reach an agreement. What remains for everything to be defined is that both parties say the value.

“The two clubs are in contact and have spoken on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, July 4. Both clubs maintain the relationship and are trying to find a solution together regarding the price. Chelsea expects to pay around 70 million plus 10 pounds ( 101.6 million dollars in total), Brighton wants more than that, but the negotiation is on track,” he said.

The two-time UEFA Champions League winning team is the only one that has formally offered for Moisés Caicedo. Although other clubs have closely followed the player and have shown signs of interest, the situation has not crossed that barrier.

The last club from which intense efforts were reported to add the midfielder was Manchester City, however, there have been no further actions. Arsenal gave up pursuing him despite presenting a proposal in January and Manchester United and Liverpool took the same position.

Moisés Caicedo, on his way to being the most expensive Ecuadorian soccer player

If Moisés Caicedo is transferred with the proposed amounts, the action will become the most expensive in history in which an Ecuadorian soccer player has been involved. The record holder for the most expensive transfer is Antonio Valencia, an Ecuadorian defender.

The ‘Amazon Express’ arrived at Manchester United in 2009 at the request of Sir Alex Ferguson from Wigan. To incorporate him, the ‘Red Devils’ paid a price of 25.1 million dollars.

The person who has gotten closest to the right back is Pervis Estupiñán, Caicedo’s teammate who arrived for the 2022-2023 season. 18 million plus five variables were paid for it, a total of 23.
